In a major crackdown ahead of the festive season, the Dhanbad district administration seized 780 kg of adulterated paneer, along with 80 kg khoya, 25 kg peda, and 25 kg laddoos, during a surprise raid conducted at 4 AM. The operation was carried out between Shramik Chowk and Puja Talkies, targeting buses arriving from Bihar.
Spot tests confirmed the presence of starch in all seized items, indicating serious adulteration. The raid was led by SDO Rajesh Kumar, Civil Surgeon Dr. Alok Vishwakarma, and Food Safety Officer Raja Kumar, under the direction of DC Aditya Ranjan.
Samples have been sent to the State Food Laboratory, Ranchi for further testing, and action will also be taken against the owner of the Bundela bus involved in transporting the goods.
