In a major step toward women’s empowerment, ₹2,500 crore was transferred today to 25 lakh women beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana at the Sankalp Auditorium, 1 Anne Marg. Each beneficiary received ₹10,000 directly into her bank account.
The primary objective of the scheme is to support one woman from every family in starting a livelihood activity of her choice. Under the initiative, women are provided an initial financial assistance of ₹10,000. After they successfully begin their employment activities, they may receive additional financial support of up to ₹2 lakh based on assessment.
The scheme is being seen as a significant step toward making women self-reliant and financially empowered. It is expected to boost women’s confidence, improve their standard of living, and increase their participation in the state’s economy, thereby accelerating overall development.
