Gumla, Jharkhand – In a major breakthrough against Maoist insurgency, a joint operation conducted by Gumla Police and Jharkhand Jaguar (STF) resulted in the death of three Maoists, including a sub-zonal commander. The encounter took place in a forested area of Gumla district, where security forces engaged in a fierce gunfight with the extremists.
During the operation, security personnel recovered one AK-47 rifle, two INSAS rifles, and a large quantity of live ammunition from the site. Police sources confirmed that the neutralized Maoists were involved in several violent activities and held key roles in the CPI (Maoist) structure.
The successful operation marks a serious blow to the Maoist presence in the region and is seen as a significant step in Jharkhand’s ongoing anti-Naxal campaign. Further search and sanitization operations are currently underway in the surrounding areas.
