Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of "killing" the Indian economy. In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), he wrote:
"The Indian economy is dead. Modi killed it."
He listed five key reasons behind the alleged economic collapse:
1. The Adani-Modi partnership
2. Demonetisation and a flawed GST
3. Failed “Assemble in India” initiative
4. Destruction of MSMEs
5. Systematic suppression of farmers
Rahul Gandhi claimed that Modi’s policies have crushed the hopes and future of India's youth, citing a severe lack of job opportunities across the country.
His statement comes amidst ongoing debates around economic growth figures, employment data, and rising discontent among small business owners and farmers. The Modi government, meanwhile, maintains that structural reforms are strengthening the economy in the long term.
