AIMIM chief and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi has questioned the decision to play a cricket match between India and Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup. Speaking on an India Today podcast, Owaisi announced that he will boycott the match scheduled to be held in Dubai.
He said, “When terrorism and dialogue cannot go hand in hand, why should cricket be an exception?” Owaisi’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions between the two nations, with the issue of cross-border terrorism continuing to dominate political discourse.
The India-Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup has always been one of the most anticipated fixtures in the cricket calendar, but it often draws political controversy given the strained bilateral relations.
