On the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, the Indian national flag was proudly hoisted at the 605-feet tall Space Needle in Seattle, Washington. The landmark moment filled the Indian diaspora with pride and joy.
The Space Needle, one of Seattle’s most recognized monuments, lit up in the colors of the Indian Tricolor for the first time. The celebration witnessed a large gathering of the Indian community, echoing chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”
Community leaders and participants expressed that this event was not only a celebration of India’s freedom but also a symbol of the growing friendship between India and the United States, and the global recognition of India’s cultural heritage.
