Bokaro (Jharkhand): A major road accident was reported from Bokaro late last night. A speeding oil tanker rammed into a police patrolling vehicle near NH-Ukreed Morh, Sector-12 police station area.
The impact was so severe that the police jeep climbed over the divider and was left completely mangled. Fortunately, all police personnel inside escaped unhurt.
However, a truck driver, who was standing near the divider, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
Soon after the crash, the oil tanker driver fled the spot. Police have seized the tanker and launched a search to trace the absconding driver.
The accident occurred near Bari Cooperative area, creating panic among locals.
