Goa, August 18: A late-night clash in Goa led to the arrest of four youths from Jharkhand, after they allegedly assaulted on-duty policemen during an altercation.
According to police sources, the incident occurred when the youths got into a heated dispute in a public area. A constable who attempted to intervene was allegedly attacked by the group, sparking chaos in the locality. Additional police forces were immediately deployed to control the situation.
The arrested individuals were produced before the court on Monday, which sent them to judicial custody. Officials stated that strict legal action will be taken given the seriousness of the offense, and investigations are underway to identify if more people were involved.
The case has drawn attention not only in Goa but also in Jharkhand, as the incident is being seen as damaging to the state’s image outside its borders. Locals in Goa have demanded stronger law-and-order measures to prevent such violent episodes in the future.
