A tragic road accident took place on Sunday along the Tundi–Govindpur route in Dhanbad, claiming the life of 23-year-old Shibu Soren. According to locals, Shibu was riding his motorcycle when a speeding vehicle hit him, killing him on the spot.
Following the incident, chaos broke out as angry villagers blocked the road, demanding justice, compensation for the bereaved family, and the immediate arrest of the driver. Despite police intervention, the protest continued for hours.
Eventually, the administration provided ₹10,000 as immediate relief to the victim’s family and assured further support. Only then did villagers lift the blockade, allowing traffic to resume.
The tragic event has once again raised concerns over road safety and traffic management in the region.
