The Opposition alliance has announced the candidature of Shri B. Sudarshen Reddy garu for the post of Rajya Sabha Chairperson. The Vice President, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha, holds the responsibility of upholding the highest traditions of Parliamentary democracy.
In a sharp attack on the Modi government, the Opposition stated that Reddy’s candidature is a strong message against the "tyranny unleashed on every institution" under the current regime.
The Joint Opposition reaffirmed its determination to safeguard the ideas and values enshrined in the Constitution, declaring that this battle will be fought head-on to protect democratic institutions and preserve the spirit of parliamentary functioning.
