Jerusalem, Sept 9 — The Israeli military on Monday issued an evacuation order for residents of Gaza City, urging civilians to leave immediately as security forces prepared for an intensified operation in the area.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had “no choice but to finish the job and defeat Hamas,” stressing that the Palestinian militant group had refused to lay down its arms.
The order comes amid weeks of heavy fighting in Gaza, which has already caused widespread destruction and displacement. While Israel insists its campaign is aimed at dismantling Hamas’s military infrastructure, international organizations have raised growing concerns over the humanitarian impact on civilians.
The United Nations and several aid agencies have warned of a potential mass exodus from Gaza City, calling for an immediate ceasefire to protect innocent lives.
