New Delhi/Shimla: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday undertook an aerial survey of the areas affected by severe flooding and landslides in Himachal Pradesh. The state has been grappling with heavy rainfall over the past few days, leading to widespread damage to infrastructure, loss of property, and disruption of normal life.
During the survey, PM Modi reviewed the extent of devastation caused by flash floods and landslides. He assured that the Central Government stands firmly with the people of Himachal Pradesh in this hour of crisis. “All efforts are being made to ensure continuous relief and support to those affected,” the Prime Minister said in a statement.
The PM also instructed concerned authorities to expedite rescue and rehabilitation operations. Special teams of NDRF, SDRF, and the Army have been deployed in the worst-hit districts to evacuate stranded people and provide essential supplies.
Meanwhile, the Himachal Pradesh government has set up relief camps for displaced families and announced immediate financial assistance to victims. Roads, bridges, and several houses have been washed away in multiple regions, posing challenges for rescue workers.
Political leaders across party lines have expressed solidarity with the state, while citizens on social media are calling for long-term measures to mitigate the impact of natural calamities in hill regions.
