New Delhi – Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has dismissed the recent controversy surrounding E20 petrol (20% ethanol-blended fuel), terming the criticism a “paid political campaign” directed against him.
Gadkari said the Supreme Court has given clarity on the issue, putting to rest the misinformation spread online. He emphasised that ethanol blending in fuel is a crucial step towards reducing pollution, cutting crude oil imports, and supporting farmers through increased demand for ethanol.
The minister asserted that vested interests had attempted to mislead the public, but the government’s clean energy initiatives will continue without compromise.
