Dhanbad: The Dhanbad Traffic Police will soon launch a special enforcement drive against vehicles using unauthorized, fancy, or illegal number plates. Ahead of the drive, the traffic department has appealed to all vehicle owners to replace such plates with High Security Registration Plates (HSRP).
Traffic DSP Mr. Arvind Kumar Singh stated that a large number of vehicles in the district are currently using fancy or non-standard number plates, which is a clear violation of the Motor Vehicles Act.
He emphasized that installing HSRP is mandatory for all vehicles. It is a modern, standardized, and secure number plate that plays a vital role in vehicle safety and compliance with government regulations.
Explaining its features, the DSP said that HSRP is tamper-proof and comes with a laser-etched unique identification code, a chromium-based Ashoka Chakra hologram, and a non-removable locking system. It also includes a color-coded sticker indicating the vehicle’s fuel type such as petrol, diesel, CNG, or electric.
He warned that during the special drive, strict legal action and penalties will be imposed on violators. Vehicle owners are advised to install HSRP at the earliest to avoid fines and legal consequences.
