In a major initiative to promote modern farming practices and enhance farmers’ income, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Mr. Aditya Ranjan on Monday flagged off 50 farmers from Dhanbad under the National Food Security Mission – Pulses (NFSNM) for a five-day interstate exposure visit and training program in Bhopal.
The farmers will receive hands-on training at the Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering (ICAR-CIAE), Bhopal, and the Indian Institute of Soil Science (IISS), where they will learn about advanced agricultural machinery, scientific soil management, modern irrigation systems, and innovative crop production techniques. Special sessions will also focus on improved livestock breeds, dairy management, and sustainable farming practices aimed at increasing productivity and profitability.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Mr. Aditya Ranjan said that such exposure visits are designed to empower farmers with practical knowledge, encourage adoption of modern technologies, and help them become self-reliant. He added that interaction with farmers from other states will enable participants to exchange ideas, understand successful farming models, and implement best practices back home.
District Agriculture Officer Dr. Abhishek Mishra, District Public Relations Officer Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh, and other officials were present during the flag-off ceremony along with the participating farmers.
The initiative is expected to significantly contribute to agricultural innovation and income enhancement among farmers in the district. 🌾🚜
