Dhanbad: Ahead of the Secondary and Intermediate Examinations starting from February 3, the district administration has put in place stringent measures to ensure smooth, fair, and malpractice-free conduct of exams. A high-level review meeting was held at the New Town Hall, chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner Mr Sunny Raj and City SP Mr Ritwik Srivastava, with centre superintendents and police officials.
Officials directed all Block Development Officers and Circle Officers to conduct physical inspections of schools in their respective areas and ensure proper classroom arrangements, clean toilets, adequate lighting, fans, drinking water facilities, and other basic infrastructure before the examinations.
The administration also instructed strict checking of vehicles transporting question papers, secure handling of confidential materials, timely delivery and submission to strong rooms, and full compliance with guidelines issued by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi. Officers were told to coordinate closely with magistrates, police personnel, assistant centre superintendents, and teachers to avoid any lapses.
City SP Ritwik Srivastava emphasised timely reporting of candidates, thorough frisking to prevent entry of unauthorised persons, complete campus security checks before exams, and a total ban on mobile phones and all electronic devices inside examination centres.
Additional directives included proper seating arrangements as per seating plans, effective time management, videography, accurate attendance marking, and timely distribution of question papers.
The Secondary Examination will be held from February 3 to February 17, 2026, from 9:45 AM to 1:00 PM, while the Intermediate Examination will take place from February 3 to February 23, 2026, in the second shift from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. The Secondary exams will be conducted using combined question-cum-answer booklets, whereas the Intermediate exams will use standard answer sheets.
Senior officials present at the meeting included SDO Lokesh Barange, ADM Law & Order Mrs Hema Prasad, DRDB Director Rajiv Ranjan, District Education Officer Abhishek Jha, Ghanshyam Dubey, along with all BDOs, COs, and police officers.
