Dhanbad | Youth Skills, Real Jobs — A Powerful Celebration of World Youth Skills Day

On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, observed on 15 July 2025, a district-level event was organized at Shree Technology India LLP Skill Centre in Dhanbad. The program aimed to empower youth through awareness, training opportunities, and job placement support. The event was inaugurated with a ceremonial lamp lighting by Mr. Anand Kumar, District Skill Officer, along with Mr. Prasun Kaushik and Mr. Shanni Kumar, Assistant Municipal Commissioners, Mr. Devesh Kumar, District Project Assistant, and Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao, CEO of the hosting skill centre. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Anand Kumar emphasized the availability of free residential training for young people between the ages of 18 and 35. He highlighted the wide range of facilities being offered, including skill-based training, career guidance, and post-training placement support to help youth build a sustainable livelihood. He stated that while academic degrees have value, real power lies in employable skills, which the government aims to provide through its various programs. The event also featured a vibrant display of talent and culture. Trainees from different skill centers showcased their expertise through live demonstrations in various trades. Alongside the technical sessions, participants enjoyed cultural activities such as street plays (nukkad natak), fashion shows, speeches, and essay competitions. The top three participants selected from each training provider were invited to the district event and awarded for their performances. To inspire and connect the local participants with broader opportunities, the event also included a live telecast of the state-level celebrations, where skilled youth were awarded offer letters. This initiative gave local trainees a real-time glimpse into the larger goals of the Skill India Mission and instilled motivation to pursue excellence in their fields. The event saw active participation from officials, trainers, center managers, and a large number of trainees. Among the key attendees were Mr. Anand Kumar, Mr. Devesh Kumar, Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao, Mr. Prashant Goyal, Mr. Vivek Kumar Saw, along with representatives from multiple training service providers. The central message from Dhanbad on this occasion was clear and strong — if you learn a skill, you can build your future. The celebration marked not just a day of awareness, but a stepping stone toward self-reliance, opportunity, and employment for the youth of Jharkhand.
