Jamshedpur Secures 3rd Rank; Bundu Recognized as ‘Promising Clean City’ in Swachh Survekshan 2024-25

Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, Jharkhand has once again proven its commitment to sustainable urban development and cleanliness. In the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25, Jamshedpur secured the 3rd position among cities with a population between 3-10 lakhs, while Bundu was awarded as the 'Promising Clean City' of Jharkhand.

The awards were conferred during a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on Thursday, in the august presence of President Smt. Droupadi Murmu. The awards were presented by Union Minister for Housing & Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu, and Secretary Shri Srinivas Katikithala.

Other Notable Performances by Jharkhand Cities:

Jamshedpur included in the list of Five-Star Cities.
Deoghar, Jugsalai, and Chakulia achieved One-Star Ranking.
Jamshedpur marked as a Water Plus City.
Bundu, Chirkunda, Rajmahal, Sahibganj, and Deoghar secured ODF++ certification.

Leadership Praised, Citizens Applauded

The dignitaries congratulated Jharkhand Government, the Urban Development & Housing Department, and especially the citizens of Jamshedpur and Bundu for this proud achievement. The state’s journey from a modest rank in the 2016 survey to consistent recognition every year is seen as a result of citizen participation, effective urban governance, and committed sanitation workers.

Urban Development & Housing Department Principal Secretary Shri Sunil Kumar credited this success to the visionary leadership of CM Hemant Soren and guidance of Minister Shri Sudivya Kumar, along with people’s active involvement. He urged all urban bodies to prioritize cleanliness in their operations and aim higher for the next survey.
