In a major boost to India's defence preparedness, the first batch of Apache attack helicopters for the Indian Army Aviation Corps arrived in India today, marking a historic milestone in the modernization of the armed forces.
These state-of-the-art, multi-role combat helicopters, known for their agility, precision strike capability, and battlefield survivability, will significantly enhance the operational firepower and aerial dominance of the Indian Army, especially in high-altitude and sensitive sectors.
Manufactured by Boeing, the Apache AH-64E is one of the most advanced attack helicopters in the world, already in service with the Indian Air Force. With their induction into the Army Aviation, the Indian Army now gains a lethal edge in close combat support and anti-armour missions.
Defence analysts see this as a transformational moment, aligning with India’s push towards jointness, modernization, and theatre commands. The remaining helicopters from the batch are expected to be delivered over the coming months.
